Surgical outcomes in extrapulmonary G3 neuroendocrine neoplasms
#3256
Introduction: Incidence of high-grade neuroendocrine (NE) neoplasms (G3NENs) is increasing. Heterogeneity of these tumors (well-differentiated NE tumors, G3NETs; poorly differentiated NE carcinomas, NEC) presents obstacles to clinical management and role of surgery is uncertain. Majority of published data suggest benefit of surgery in NECs limited to localized disease. Role of surgery in G3NET remains ill-defined.
Aim(s): To evaluate surgical outcomes in extrapulmonary G3NENs (EP-G3NENs).
Materials and methods: Single-center, retrospective review of patients (pts) with EP-NENs diagnosed with G3 who had surgical resection of primary or metastatic site (2000-2020). Analysis of clinico-pathologic features conducted, using log rank test for overall survival (OS) differences since surgery.
