The dominant role of pancreatic and pulmonary NET G3 in a large consultation center series
#3501
Introduction: NETs G3 have been reported mostly in the pancreas, but other primary sites have not been well-investigated. Pulmonary atypical carcinoids corresponding to NET G3 were observed as metastases. Little is known about the progression of primary NETs to metastatic NET G3.
Aim(s): To clarify, first, where and how often NET G3 occurs de-novo (“primary” NET G3), second, how many NETs G3 are identified as metastases, and third, how often NET G3 evolves from NET G1/G2 (“secondary” NET G3).
Materials and methods: 1513 NENs retrieved to our consultation center were classified based on the WHO classification of digestive system tumors.
