Introduction: Mechanisms driving progression from indolent to aggressive and metastatic disease in PanNET are largely unknown. Recent transcriptome and epigenome analyses suggest a stepwise progression model leading to enhanced proliferation, de-differentiation, and metabolic reprogramming. However, the metabolic landscape at different stages and the therapeutic potential of targeting metabolic proteins remain largely uncharacterized.

Introduction: The lack of preclinical models of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) challenges advancement in biomarker discovery. Culturing cancer cells in their native tissue enables the study of complex tumor cell-ECM interactions, products of which could be utilised as disease biomarkers.

Introduction: Helicobacter pylori (Hp) has been linked to several diseases such as chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), gastritis, and type 1 gastric neuroendocrine tumors (T1-GNET). Although these diseases seem to have different mechanisms, their relationship with Hp suggests a possible common inflammatory pathway.
