#2118 Reassessment of Risk Factors Associated with Locoregional Lymph Nodal Metastases in Well-Differentiated Appendiceal Neuroendocrine Neoplasms

Introduction: To prevent loco-regional recurrence and subsequent development of distant metastases in Appendiceal Neuro-Endocrine Neoplasms (ANEN), the existing Guidelines have identified risk factors which would indicate a prophylactic right hemicolectomy(RHC).

#1921 Prognostic Factors That Mandate Long Term Follow Up Following Surgery for Appendiceal Neuroendocrine Tumours (aNETs)

Introduction: Appendiceal neuroendocrine tumours (aNETs) are usually diagnosed incidentally at appendicectomy and rarely recur. Current ENET guidelines inform their management and highlight areas of uncertainty.

#1654 A Single Centre Analysis of the Management of Appendiceal Neuroendocrine Neoplasms (NENs) Including Goblet Cell Carcinoids (GCC)

Introduction: Appendiceal neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are usually diagnosed incidentally on histology following an appendicectomy. They include carcinoid tumours (appendiceal neuroendocrine tumours, NETs) and goblet cell carcinoids (GCC). GCC neoplasms are able to transform to an adenocarcinoma phenotype.

#1152 Appendiceal Neuroendocrine Tumor: Correlation Between Histopathological Factors

Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumours (NET) of the appendix are rare histopathological neoplasm’s detected following operation for appendicitis. Clinical decisions focuses on different pathological factors for further management. With the aim of defining contemporary patterns of care in surgical practice, a critical review of the records is carried to establish a correlation between different histopathological parameters

#934 Neuroendocrine Tumors of The Appendix: A Study of Presentation, Investigation and Management

Introduction: Causes of appendicitis include infection, inflammatory bowel disease, faecoliths and neoplasm. Rarer causes of obstruction, such as neoplasm, may present in an identical manner to common causes, such as infection, and remain undiagnosed without histologcal analysis of appendicaecal tissue. Neuroendocrine tumors of the appendix are most commonly detected incidentally by histological analysis of appendicaecal tissue following appendicectomy.
