Introduction: Peptide Radio Receptor Therapy (PRRT) represents a standard treatment in patients with well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NET G1/G2). Nevertheless, a lack of response is observed in 1/3 of patients after PRRT, suggesting that combination of PRRT with other therapies might increase its efficacy. The combination of PRRT with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) might be promising, since radiation induced cell death can trigger antigen release and lead to activation of the immune system.

#1320 Are eIFs Ingredients for Neuroendocrine Tumorigenesis?
Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) develop in almost any organ, therefore they are a very heterogeneous group of tumors. One of the major activities in every cell is the translation of mRNA to the corresponding protein, which plays an important role in cancer development. Crucial for this translation process are eukaryotic initiation factors (eIFs), which are themselves regulated by the mammalian target of Rapamycin (mTOR)-pathway. Mutation or deregulated expression of eIFs influences cell growth and proliferation, contributing to carcinogenesis. The incidence of NETs has increased fivefold over the last three decades.

#844 Variation Between Chromogranin A Assays in the Diagnosis of Gastric Carcinoid Type 1
Introduction: Chromogranin A (CgA) is not very accurate for the diagnosis of gastric carcinoid type1 (GC1). Clinical interpretation of CgA results may be affected by the heterogeneity between CgA assays. The commercial CgA assay, DAKO (DAKO, Denmark A/S, Glostrup, Denmark) is an ELISA which recognizes a 23 kD C terminal fragment of CgA; the Imperial Supra-regional Assay Service radioimmunoassay (SAS Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, London) is a competitive radioimmunoassay raised against the whole pancreastatin molecule.
