#1604 Resection of Liver Metastases in Patients with High-Grade Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Carcinomas: A Nordic Multicenter Study

Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine carcinomas (GEP-NEC) are generally characterized by synchronous metastases, high aggressiveness and a dismal prognosis. Currently, resection of liver metastases in patients with metastatic GEP-NEC is not recommended. However, the existing data are scarce.

#262 Changes on Chromosome 18 are Involved in Sporadic and Familial Ileal Carcinoid Tumor Development

Introduction: Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (ileal carcinoid) is generally considered a sporadic disease. We have identified nine families with an ileal carcinoid tumor diagnosed in two or more individuals.

#112 Chromogranin A is a sensitive marker for detection of recurrence in neuroendocrine tumors

Introduction: The chromogranin family is a family of large acidic proteins which are expressed in neuroendocrine cells. There are several members in this family (Chromogranin A, B (CgA and CgB) and the secretogranins). Here, we show that CgA is an excellent marker to detect recurrence in neuroendocrine tumors.

#46 Neuroendocrine markers are expressed in human mammary glands

Introduction: Regulatory peptides have previously been detected in epithelial cells of human mammary glands. As these peptides are produced by scattered neuroendocrine cells in the epithelium of other tissues the aim of this study was to investigate whether the mammary glands express molecular markers for neuroendocrine cells.
