#4537 The usefulness of circulating fibrosis markers in detection of carcinoid heart disease
Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) is a potential serious fibrotic complication in patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), affecting the heart valves. Early detection is crucial to avoid severe manifestations. NT-proBNP is suggested as an initial screening tool in detection of CHD; however, the value of NT-proBNP as a screening tool is questionable.

Introduction: Renal impairment due to renal fibrosis is a potential side effect in NET-patients undergoing Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT). Fibrosis markers are small collagen formation - and degradation fragments that are measurable in circulation at very early stages of fibrosis formation.

Introduction: In patients with small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours (SI-NETs), serotonin may induce fibrosis and lead to carcinoid heart disease (CHD) with right sided valvular dysfunction.

#1167 Cowden Syndrome and Concomitant Pulmonary Neuroendocrine Tumor: A Presentation of Two Cases
Introduction: Cowden Syndrome is a multiorgan disorder with germline mutations in the tumor suppressor gene PTEN leading to dysfunctional cell growth and risk of neoplasms in e.g. breast and thyroid, but no association with NET has been described.
