#3320 TGF-β increase caspase activation and migration in typical bronchial carcinoids
Introduction: Typical bronchial carcinoids (TBC) are well-differentiated neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) whose management can still be very challenging due to reduced sensitivity to therapy. Previous studies have reported TGF-β’s ability to activate mTOR pathway and induce epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT). Moreover, preliminary results show an overexpression of TGF-β signalling and caspase activation in TBC.

Introduction: Stromal Immune Contexture (SIC) helps predict prognosis in solid Tumors (T) but has been poorly investigated in gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs). We tested whether GEP-NENs profiling for adaptive immunity-related SIC markers, as well as inflammatory (COX2),EMT [Beta-catenin (B-cat)] and oncogenic pathway signaling (pS6) markers, could improve Ki67 and/or MO-based prediction of OS and DFS.

#1847 CXCR4 Inhibition by Ulocuplumab Prevents EMT of pNET Cells in Vitro
Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) overexpress CXCR4. We have previously shown that stimulation of CXCR4 by its ligand SDF-1 promotes the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and increases distant tumor spread. Ulocuplumab (Ulo) is a fully human IgG4 mAb designed to inhibit the binding of CXCR4 to SDF-1.

#1520 Osteotropism of NETs: Role of the SDF1/CXCR4 Axis in Regulating EMT
Introduction: NETs metastasize to the bone in up to 20% of patients. The SDF1/CXCR4 axis is a key determinant of osteotropism, and we showed that NETs overexpressing CXCR4 are more likely to develop bone metastases.

Introduction: MEN1 is an autosomal-dominant tumor syndrome characterized by the occurrence of tumors in multiple endocrine tissues, including parathyroid, enteropancreatic neuroendocrine and anterior pituitary. The MEN1 gene consists of 10 exons transcribed into a 610 a.a. protein. It was reported that heterogeneity of human MEN1 gene transcripts related to variation in their 5’ UTR. Six distinct exsons1 (e1A-e1F) were isolated using RNA from thymus, pancreas and kidney.
