Comparative targeted NGS analysis between solid and liquid biopsies in GEP-NET: A pilot study
#4073
Introduction: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) present a broad clinical variability. Genetic profile could be a striking resource to respond to prognostic and treatment purposes. Sequencing of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) from liquid biopsy (LB) has been proposed as a less invasive alternative to solid biopsy (SB).
Aim(s): Verify the reliability of the mutational profile (MP) provided by LB compared to SB sequencing.
Materials and methods: SB and LB were derived simultaneously from 6 GEP-NET patients (pts), and DNA was extracted. A comparative targeted NGS analysis was performed to evaluate the mutational status of 11 genes (MEN1, DAXX, ATRX, MUTYH, SETD2, DEPDC5, TSC2, ARID1A, CHECK2, MTOR, PTEN).
