Introduction: Type 1 gastric neuroendocrine tumours (g-NETs) have a high recurrence risk after endoscopic resection, underscoring the need for regular endoscopic follow-up. Our research hints that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) could help lower recurrence rates.

Introduction: Pathological diagnosis of neuroendocrine differentiation (NED) relies on histomorphological assessment and specific markers, including chromogranin A (CgA) and synaptophysin (Syn). Previous studies indicate that tumours with a high proportion of CgA (+) exhibit increased malignancy and aggressiveness in neuroendocrine tumours, suggesting that CgA may serve as a prognostic marker.

Introduction: An unmet need in NEN diagnosis is better risk stratification for individuals with suspected disease (based on symptoms or imaging), enabling efficient identification of those needing further evaluation and tissue diagnosis, thus speeding the process and reducing costs. NETest 2.0, a biomarker based on a 51-gene mRNA panel, was developed for diagnosing neuroendocrine neoplasia (NEN).

Introduction: Chromogranin A (CgA) is a widely used serum biomarker for neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), reflecting tumour burden and secretory activity. Despite its clinical utility, the diagnostic sensitivity and prognostic value of CgA remain a subject of debate, especially given its potential for false positives and its variation across different NET subtypes.

Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) is the main complication of carcinoid syndrome (CS) in patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and has a poor prognosis, with treatment based mainly on high-risk valve replacement surgery.
