Introduction: Pathological diagnosis of neuroendocrine differentiation (NED) relies on histomorphological assessment and specific markers, including chromogranin A (CgA) and synaptophysin (Syn). Previous studies indicate that tumours with a high proportion of CgA (+) exhibit increased malignancy and aggressiveness in neuroendocrine tumours, suggesting that CgA may serve as a prognostic marker.

Introduction: Ductal adenocarcinoma of the prostate is a rare subtype of prostate cancer that arises from the ducts of the prostate gland. It is characterised by distinct histological features and a more aggressive clinical course. Neuroendocrine differentiation within this subtype is associated with a more aggressive phenotype and can lead to resistance to conventional androgen deprivation therapies.

Introduction: PNET is a rare group of highly heterogeneous tumours with neuroendocrine differentiation properties. Everolimus is the most promising drug for progressive well-differentiated pNETs. Sorafenib's anti-tumour activity may involve regulation of the mTOR pathway.

Introduction: Gastric neuroendocrine tumours (gNET) are neoplasms derived from enterochromaffin-like cells (ECL cells). A malignant gastrointestinal neuroectodermal tumour (GNET) is an extremely rare tumour with only less than 40 reported cases. They are rare lesions with indolent behaviour and neuroendocrine differentiation.
