#3053 The Splicing Machinery Is Dysregulated in Low Grade Pulmonary Neuroendocrine Tumors

Introduction: Alternative splicing dysregulation is increasingly regarded as a novel cancer hallmark influencing all key tumor features. We have shown that neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) overexpress aberrantly spliced variants of neuropeptides and receptors that increase tumor malignancy. More recently, we discovered that the splicing machinery is dysregulated in pituitary and pancreatic NETs. To date, the status of this machinery in low grade pulmonary NETs is largely unknown.

#3029 Adrenocortical Carcinoma Metastasic in Adult on Complete Response with EDP-M and Local Therapy: A Single Case Report

Introduction: Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) in adults is a rare tumor (incidence 0.7-2/1000000/year). Median overall survival is 3-4 years and five-year survival is 0-28% in metastatic disease. The only curative therapy is complete surgical resection, plus adjuvant therapy depending on poor prognostic factors (ENSAT stage III, R1 resection or Ki67>10%). Both recurrent oligometastatic disease and patients who respond to systemic treatment (ST), a radical approach with surgery or local therapy (LT) may be treatment options.

#3018 Real-Life Data for Telotristat Ethyl in Resistant-to-Treatment Carcinoid Syndrome: Is It Efficacious in Carcinoid Flushing as Well?

Introduction: Results from clinical trials with telotristat ethyl (TE) are really encouraging about its role in carcinoid syndrome-associated diarrhoea, however, its efficacy in flushing has been equivocal.

#2989 Different Social Media Neuroendocrine Tumor Indexing Strategies Used by Physicians and Advocacy Groups

Introduction: The use of Twitter to disseminate medical content has increased over the last decade. Although Twitter activity by oncologists is clustered around international conferences, advocacy groups have different temporal social media patterns. Furthermore, given the non-standardized method of indexing tweets using Twitter hashtags, it can be difficult to follow the full breadth of a topic.
