Introduction: Baseline and interim (after 2 cycles) somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-directed PET/CTs are essential in patients with gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours (GI-NET) undergoing peptide radioreceptor therapy (PRRT).

Introduction: The management of small, asymptomatic non-functional pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (NF-pNENs) is contentious, with two main approaches: surgical resection and "watch-and-wait." Current guidelines recommend monitoring NF-pNENs under 2 cm based on retrospective data, although recent U.S. studies suggest improved survival with surgery for 1-2 cm NF-pNENs. Some suggest the "watch-and-wait" approach for older patients, though its efficacy is unclear.

Introduction: The clinical management of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NEN) remains challenging due to disease heterogeneity. We have recently shown that mRNA expression of the immunostimulatory cytokine FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) in tumor tissue is a prognostic biomarker in high-grade GEP-NEN patients. However, a direct link between Flt3L expression and the presence of proinflammatory immune cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) of GEP-NEN is still missing.

Introduction: The development of treatment strategies for neuroendocrine carcinomas (NEC) requires in vitro models expressing NEC–specific targets. The CXC Chemokine Receptor Type 4 (CXCR4), that is expressed in NEC with decreasing differentiation, as well as factors involved in chemotherapy resistance may represent such targets.
