#4625 Efficacy and safety of capecitabine-temozolomide (CAPTEM) regimen in patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms – A systematic review and experience from NETwerk, a Belgian ENETS Center of Excellence

Introduction: Current treatment guidelines remain inconclusive due to scarcity of data regarding the optimal systemic treatment for metastatic gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) neuroendocrine tumours (NET) grade 3 and aggressive GEP-NET grade 2. Similarly, for metastatic pulmonary typical (TC) and atypical carcinoids (AC), the indication for chemotherapy is unclear. Recent evidence highlights a promising role for CAPTEM, combining temozolomide (TEM) with capecitabine (CAP), showing encouraging antitumoural activity and safety profiles for these indications.

Introduction: Guidelines for multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) recommend intensive imaging surveillance without specifying a superior regimen, including the role of somatostatin receptor imaging (SRI) with positron emission tomography (PET).

#3461 Gender specific differences in overall survival (OS) in patients with pulmonary neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) in a large United Kingdom (UK) tertiary centre

Introduction: Pulmonary NENs account for approximately 2% of all pulmonary malignancy. Overall survival data is mainly based on the USA SEER database or surgical cohorts, but data for the UK population is lacking. Only a few studies report on gender related outcomes and demonstrate no sex differences in overall survival.

#3072 Rb and p53 Status Determination by Immunochemistry Is Complementary in Routine Practice to Genetic Testing of Neuroendocrine Neoplasms

Introduction: Rb and p53 status may help distinguishing well from poorly differentiated neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) and may predict response to chemotherapy. Studies correlating Rb/p53 genetic and immunohistochemistry were performed on high-quality frozen samples with high throughput techniques efficient for copy number determination. This situation differs from routine practice in which small deletions may be hard to detect on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples with a gene panel approach.
