Introduction: The lack of preclinical models of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) challenges advancement in biomarker discovery. Culturing cancer cells in their native tissue enables the study of complex tumor cell-ECM interactions, products of which could be utilised as disease biomarkers.

Introduction: A lack of preclinical models of pNETs challenges understanding of complex interactions between cancer cells and their stroma. Traditional in vitro disease models such as 2D cultures however, induce phenotypic and functional drifts consequent of their removal from the native, tissue specific niche. Culturing pNET cells in their native tissue recapitulates specific cell-ECM interactions and tissue remodeling processes.

#3133 Establishment of neuroendocrine neoplasms organoid biobank enables genotype-phenotype mapping
Introduction: Gastroentero-pancreatic (GEP) neuroendocrine neoplasm (NEN) that consists of neuroendocrine tumor (NET) and neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is a lethal but under-investigated disease owing to its rarity. Incidence of this disease is recently increasing, and novel treatment is warranted. However, the establishment and application of GEP-NEN disease models have been limited.
