Introduction: Malnutrition is common in patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs) treated with monthly somatostatin analogues (SSAs). Ideally all malnourished patients are offered nutritional support. However, clinical guidelines and data on the development and progression of malnutrition is lacking.

Introduction: The molecular mechanism underlying the tumorigenesis of sporadic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) is largely unknown. Our previous studies showed that loss of heterozygosity (LOH) at chromosome 1q31 (including PHLDA3 gene) was frequently found in sporadic PNETs (2005 insulinoma and 2003 gastrinoma, respectively).

Introduction: Temozolomide (TMZ) is an alkylating agent and is widely used in the treatment of PanNET. So far, only the MGMT status, defined by its immunohistochemical (IHC) expression or its promoter methylation, has been proposed as predictor of response to TMZ, but its value remains controversial.

Introduction: Temozolomide (TMZ) based chemotherapy on gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) seems effective, but the predictive effect of 06-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) on efficacy is controversial.

Introduction: Small bowel neuroendocrine tumors (SBNETs) are increasing in incidence and are the most common small bowel malignancy. The characteristic nodal mass, which may extend high into the mesentery, can make achieving microscopically negative resection margins difficult without resecting excessive lengths of small bowel.
