#3718 Epidemiology of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) in England 2012-2018 – Home location, incidence and survival including access to neuroendocrine centres of excellence (CoE)

Introduction: Many cancers have been associated with environmental factors but these remain unexplored for NEN. Travel to and from a CoE can be a significant burden to patients. There is evidence that this impacts on treatment outcomes and survival in other cancers.

#3711 Evaluation of unreimbursed costs in the UK through utilisation of home administration of lanreotide autogel (LAN) for the treatment of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs)

Introduction: Homecare is an established delivery method utilised by the UK NHS. In the UK, patients with GEP-NETs on a stable dose of LAN can be trained for self or partner administration or can be administered by a homecare nurse. Both methods remove LAN related activity in an acute setting, negating costs to the provider. The National Tariff payment system is a set of prices to help the NHS deliver value to patients. The price, as set out in the 2022/23 National Tariff workbook, for a single professional follow-up endocrinology outpatient appointment is £101. The cost of this activity, as set out in the 2020/21 National Schedule of Costs, is £197. This represents a potential unreimbursed cost to the NHS of £96 per outpatient appointment.

#3362 Need and challenges of developing a comprehensive neuroendocrine tumor dietetic service

Introduction: QEH Birmingham provides tertiary and quaternary specialist neuroendocrine tumor (NET) services to a 10 million population. Until August 2020 Specialist Dietetic resource was limited to one outpatient clinic per week meaning few patients had access to this service. Inpatients were seen by non-specialist dietitians or not at all.
