#4607 BH3-mimetic drugs elicit cell death of neuroendocrine tumours in preclinical models – An emerging therapeutic strategy for NETs

Introduction: There is an unmet clinical need to identify new, effective therapies for patients with neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). Analysis of single-cell expression data revealed that NETs express high levels of the Bcl2 family of antiapoptotic proteins. Therefore, we hypothesised that proapoptotic drugs, such as BH3-mimetics, can induce programmed cell death, i.e., apoptosis, of neuroendocrine cancer cells.

#4397 DNA repair enzyme regulation strategy for enhanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour therapy via targeting siRNA-lipid nanoparticles

Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (panNETs) originate from neuroendocrine cells with high rates of metastasis, rendering many patients’ ineligible for surgical resection. The first-line chemotherapeutic agent temozolomide (TMZ) for metastatic panNETs faces challenges related to resistance, primarily mediated by the DNA repair enzyme O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT).

#4316 Combination of sorafenib and everolimus regresses pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour significantly in vitro and vivo

Introduction: PNET is a rare group of highly heterogeneous tumours with neuroendocrine differentiation properties. Everolimus is the most promising drug for progressive well-differentiated pNETs. Sorafenib's anti-tumour activity may involve regulation of the mTOR pathway.

#4293 Efficacy of FOLFOX chemotherapy combined with anti-angiogenic targeted drugs (bevacizumab/surufatinib) in neuroendocrine tumours after progression following multiple lines of therapy: A retrospective study

Introduction: The FOLFOX regimen (combining 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, and oxaliplatin) has been widely used for treating various cancers, including NETs. However, the effectiveness of combining FOLFOX with antiangiogenic agents in NETs after progression on multiple therapies remains unclear.
