#4476 Pancreatic stellate cells promote tumorigenesis and progression of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours through SERPINE2 and KCNA5

Introduction: Pancreatic stellate cells (PSC) are stromal cells in the pancreas that play a significant role in pancreatic pathology. Nevertheless, few studies have explored the significance of PSC in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (panNET). Their contribution to the fibrotic responses in panNET remains poorly understood. How PSC promote tumorigenesis and differentiation in panNET after being activated to myofibroblasts or cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF) has not been studied.

#4150 Uncovering the role of netrins and DCC (deleted in colorectal cancer) in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PNEN) tumorigenesis

Introduction: DCC functions as a tumor suppressor and is altered in various tumors, including neuroendocrine neoplasms. Netrin (NTN)-1 serves as the primary ligand for DCC. Operating as a dependence receptor, DCC induces apoptosis without NTN and promotes cell survival in its presence. In some cancers like small cell lung cancer and neuroblastoma, upregulation of NTN-3 rather than NTN-1 has been observed. However, the precise involvement of NTNs and DCC in PNEN remains unclear.

#4007 Inactivation of PHLDA3 gene leading to tumorigenesis of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors and its molecular mechanisms

Introduction: The molecular mechanism underlying the tumorigenesis of sporadic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) is largely unknown. Our previous studies showed that loss of heterozygosity (LOH) at chromosome 1q31 (including PHLDA3 gene) was frequently found in sporadic PNETs (2005 insulinoma and 2003 gastrinoma, respectively).
