#4537 The usefulness of circulating fibrosis markers in detection of carcinoid heart disease
Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) is a potential serious fibrotic complication in patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), affecting the heart valves. Early detection is crucial to avoid severe manifestations. NT-proBNP is suggested as an initial screening tool in detection of CHD; however, the value of NT-proBNP as a screening tool is questionable.

Introduction: Renal impairment due to renal fibrosis is a potential side effect in NET-patients undergoing Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT). Fibrosis markers are small collagen formation - and degradation fragments that are measurable in circulation at very early stages of fibrosis formation.

#3401 Characterising aggressive pulmonary carcinoids through integrative omics analysis
Introduction: Atypical carcinoids, and our recently identified supra-carcinoids (Alcala et al. 2019) belong to the pulmonary carcinoid (PCA) group of low grade lung neuroendocrine tumors. Little is known about the underlying biology of these tumors, nor why some patients are prone to metastatic disease and tumor recurrence. To date, molecular analysis of these tumors has been limited, particularly with regard to whole-genome sequencing (WGS).
