#4281 Automated (artificial intelligence) vs. manual evaluation of the somatostatin-receptor 2A and proliferation marker Ki-67 in neuroendocrine neoplasms: A pilot study

Introduction: Digital image analysis methods are currently being equipped with artificial intelligence (AI). Various AI applications are already in use to determine Ki-67. To date, there is no specialised AI application available to determine the somatostatin-receptor 2A (SSTR2A).

#3501 The dominant role of pancreatic and pulmonary NET G3 in a large consultation center series

Introduction: NETs G3 have been reported mostly in the pancreas, but other primary sites have not been well-investigated. Pulmonary atypical carcinoids corresponding to NET G3 were observed as metastases. Little is known about the progression of primary NETs to metastatic NET G3.

#3290 Intratumoral serotonin might decrease the efficacy of PRRT in ileal neuroendocrine tumors

Introduction: Partial remission can be achieved by peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) in only roughly 20% of patients with midgut neuroendocrine tumor (NET). This low remission rate can be due to the radioprotective role of stored intracytoplasmic serotonin in NET cells. If blocked, e.g. by telotristatethyl, PRRT efficacy might be increased.

#2743 Mimics of Neuroendocrine Neoplasms Identified in a Single Consultation Center between 2009 and 2019

Introduction: Immunohistochemical expression of synaptophysin (SYN), chromogranin (CgA) and cytokeratin are essential for diagnosis of NENs. Non-NENs, however, may occasionally also express NE-markers and cytokeratin and cause diagnostic difficulties.

#2279 Expression of FOXM1 in G3 Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET G3) and G3 Neuroendocrine Carcinomas (NEC G3) of the Pancreas and the Intestine

Introduction: G3 gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (G3 NET) and carcinomas (G3 NEC) differ considerably concerning their biological behavior and patients outcome. Whereas the WHO2017 classification for pancreatic NETs proposes a distinction of both groups using the Ki-67 proliferation marker (Klöppel et al. Reviews and Reports 2017), a useful marker for the subclassification of G3 intestinal NETs have not been recommended until now.
