#3170 Endoscopic resectability and clinical outcome of patients with rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms

Introduction: Rectal neuroendocrine neoplasms (rectal carcinoids or r-NEN) are lesions of uncertain malignant potential. Most of them are polypoid, with yellowish coloration, central ulceration and/or depression, or submucosal bulging, commonly measure less than 10 mm. Their finding is often incidental and are mainly asymptomatic. The most appropriate clinical and endoscopic management of these lesions is still debated.

Introduction: Dysregulation of the mTOR pathway in digestive neuroendocrine tumours (d-NETs) led to the introduction of Everolimus (EVE) as treatment. EVE significantly increases PFS, but most patients acquire resistance, due to activation of feedback loops.
