#4297 Small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasm – A very intriguing case

Introduction: Functional neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) frequently result in a range of severe and unpleasant symptoms and can also result in life threatening illness. This case report will detail the complex history of a patient with metastatic small bowel tumour diagnosed in 2015 with current stable disease treated at the West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

#4187 Psychiatric and cognitive function in patients with serotonin producing neuroendocrine tumors

Introduction: Cognitive and psychiatric problems are common in cancer patients, but literature in patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NET) is scarce. Peripheral serotonin overproduction by the tumor, clinically manifesting as carcinoid syndrome, is hypothesized to be related to cognitive and psychiatric problems, through depletion of serotonin’s precursor tryptophan.

#3628 Retrospective survival analysis of patients with small bowel neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and analysis of patient satisfaction post covid pandemic in the Sheffield European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) Centre of Excellence (COE)

Introduction: Small bowel NETs are the commonest primary malignancies of the small bowel. Incidence is increasing, but it is often still diagnosed at a late stage. The effects of COVID-19 may have affected patient satisfaction. Reported survival is quoted at 90% at 1 year and 70% at 5 years for all stages.
