#4588 Spatial transcriptomics identifies Wnt signalling in multifocal ileal neuroendocrine tumours
Introduction: Ileal neuroendocrine tumours (i-NETs) often present with multiple primary tumours (>30-40%). Recent studies showed no shared somatic mutations in multiple primary tumours, highlighting the need to examine the tumour microenvironment in tumorigenesis. The Wnt signalling pathway is crucial for organ stem cell regulation. While the Wnt/β-catenin pathway influences prostate and pancreatic NET/Cs, its role in i-NETs remains unclear.

Introduction: Since 2019 the Global Leadership Into Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria exist for diagnosing malnutrition. Patients (pts) with gastoenteropancreatic (GEP) neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) treated with somatostatin analogues (SSAs) are at risk of malnutrition. Deficiencies in fat-soluble vitamins, minerals and trace elements (micronutrients) are not part of the GLIM criteria but frequently reported in pts with GEP-NETs treated with SSAs.

Introduction: Lung neuroendocrine tumors (LNETs) are subdivided into low-grade (typical) and intermediate-grade (atypical) carcinoids, at higher risk of developing metastases. We have previously identified 3 LNETs molecular groups with different prognoses, as well as “supra-carcinoids” with molecular profiles of higher-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas. Despite promising results, there is still no consensus on their differential diagnosis and treatment and little is known about how some tumors evolve toward more aggressive phenotypes.

Introduction: In recent years, the use of 177Lu-DOTATATE radioisotope therapy has been expanded to patients with metastatic pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PCC/PGL). Although this is not the standard of care, treatment options are limited for those with MIBG negative disease. Our centre has treated over 40 patients with NETS with PRRT since 2012.
