#3768 Predictive transcriptomic signature of response to axitinib in patients with advanced NETs included in the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled AXINET trial (GETNE 1107)

Introduction: Axitinib in combination with Octreotide LAR significantly improved ORR (13.2 vs 3.2%, OR 4.58, p=0.0045) and PFS (16.6 vs 9.9m, HR 0.71, p=0.017) per central blinded radiological assessment, as compared to placebo and SSA, in 256 patients with EP-NETs included in the AXINET trial (Garcia-Carbonero et al, ESMO 2021). The magnitude of the benefit, however, was limited.

#3479 Mesenteric fibrosis in SI-NEN is characterized by strong dysregulation of CXCL9, IL6, COMP and COL6A6 genes

Introduction: Small intestine neuroendocrine neoplasms (SI-NENs) are characterized by the development of desmoplastic mesenteric fibrosis (MF) in up to 50 % of cases. This can cause intestinal obstruction and ischemia, which is a significant clinical problem.

#3327 Increased expression of cytochrome P450 3A4 in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor cells promotes drug resistance

Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) are slow growing, but often metastasize to the liver. Several systemic treatment options are available for metastatic PNETs but unfortunately fail to improve survival. Hence a better understanding of PNET biology and new therapies are required. In an attempt to identify new drugs for metastatic PNETs, our group performed gene expression analysis of primary PNETs and PNETs that metastasized to lymph nodes and/or liver and identified genes and drug candidates that could potentially help treat metastatic PNETs.

Introduction: The neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) of the rectum are rare but increasing in incidence, by means of improved endoscopic techniques and histological reporting. They often occur as small polypoid lesions and G1, and in most cases an incidental finding at endoscopy.
