Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NET) are rare tumors, with an incidence of less than 0.5 cases per 100,000 people, PTNE represents 5% of pancreatic tumors, surgical treatment has a central place because it is the only treatment potentially curative if the resection is complete.

#4187 Psychiatric and cognitive function in patients with serotonin producing neuroendocrine tumors

Introduction: Cognitive and psychiatric problems are common in cancer patients, but literature in patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NET) is scarce. Peripheral serotonin overproduction by the tumor, clinically manifesting as carcinoid syndrome, is hypothesized to be related to cognitive and psychiatric problems, through depletion of serotonin’s precursor tryptophan.

Introduction: Neuroendocrine tumors (NET) can release biogenic amines that can induce a fibrotic process in the heart valves known as carcinoid heart disease (CHD). Valvular replacement surgery is the standard of care, but such interventions are associated with significant morbidity and valid criteria for both selecting patients (pts) and timing of surgery are limited.

#4122 Effectiveness and safety of surufatinib in treating pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas

Introduction: Pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs), classified as malignant by WHO in 2017, are partly catecholamine-secreting neuroendocrine tumors (NET). The 5-year overall survival rate of metastases PPGLs (mPPGL) is only between 50% and 60%. Surufatinib, approved for the treatment of NET, with anti-angiogenic and immunomodulatory properties, offers potential as a potential candidate for treating mPPGL.
