Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) are rare neoplasm in which the investigation of new biomarkers is essential. An elevated Neutrophile to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet to Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) has been proposed as a negative prognostic factor in several neoplasms, but their role in pNET is unclear.

Introduction: Neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) with ki-67/MIB1>55% show different responses to platinum-based therapy. Loss of Rb protein and KRAS mutation are markers of response, but it is unknown whether also clinical factors may have a predictive role.

Introduction: Response after treatment with [166Ho]-radioembolization is difficult to predict in patients with NET. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and thrombocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (TLR) have been described as prognosticators for response.

Introduction: NETs are extremely heterogeneous in nature. Despite recent advances, few biomarkers are available to consistently predict prognosis and optimize treatment selection.

Introduction: LuTate is a treatment for well-differentiated NETs with adequate somatostatin receptor expression. Prognostic biomarkers in this population are lacking. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is prognostic in the majority of solid tumours but is reported to have less value in indolent well-differentiated NETs.
