#4607 BH3-mimetic drugs elicit cell death of neuroendocrine tumours in preclinical models – An emerging therapeutic strategy for NETs

Introduction: There is an unmet clinical need to identify new, effective therapies for patients with neuroendocrine tumours (NETs). Analysis of single-cell expression data revealed that NETs express high levels of the Bcl2 family of antiapoptotic proteins. Therefore, we hypothesised that proapoptotic drugs, such as BH3-mimetics, can induce programmed cell death, i.e., apoptosis, of neuroendocrine cancer cells.

Introduction: Introduction: Neuroendocrine cancer (NEC) refers to rare tumours arising from cells that possess both neural and endocrine functions, affecting organs such as the pancreas, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract. In rural India, limited access to specialised oncology care results in delayed diagnoses and insufficient support for NEC patients, making holistic palliative care essential for these communities.

#4297 Small bowel neuroendocrine neoplasm – A very intriguing case

Introduction: Functional neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) frequently result in a range of severe and unpleasant symptoms and can also result in life threatening illness. This case report will detail the complex history of a patient with metastatic small bowel tumour diagnosed in 2015 with current stable disease treated at the West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
