#4651 Neuroendocrine hyperplasia of infancy (NEHI) vs. diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia (DIPNECH): What is the difference?

Introduction: Neuroendocrine Hyperplasia of Infancy (NEHI) is a rare disease that belongs to the group of interstitial lung disease in children; characterised by hypoxemia, tachypnoea, and respiratory distress, often misdiagnosed as reactive airway disease or bronchiolitis. The diagnosis relies on histologic evaluation. We describe the clinical presentation and paraclinical characteristics of paediatric patients with NEHI.

#4648 Analysis of presentation and outcomes of mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma (MANEC) – A single centre experience

Introduction: Mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma (MANEC) is a rare neoplasm characterised by the coexistence of both adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine carcinoma components. Due to its rarity, limited data exist regarding its clinical presentation, treatment strategies, and outcomes. This study provides an analysis of MANEC cases from a single centre, providing insights into its clinical features, diagnostic challenges, treatment strategies, and prognosis.

#4621 Clinical presentation and outcomes of sporadic neuroendocrine neoplasms in young adults: International multicentre analysis

Introduction: Most neuroendocrine neoplasms (NEN) are sporadic. Early disease onset has been increasingly observed in NEN.

#4587 Exploring the splicing landscape to identify survival-related biomarkers in small intestine neuroendocrine neoplasms

Introduction: The study of small intestine neuroendocrine neoplasms (siNENs) is challenging due to their rarity and complexity. While transcriptomic subtypes have been identified, the mechanisms behind their progression are still unclear. The process of RNA splicing is often altered in cancer, and our group has described that such dysregulation is also present in various NENs.

#4559 Exploring the interplay between RNA methylation and splicing dysregulation in neuroendocrine tumours

Introduction: Post-transcriptional modifications play crucial roles in regulating gene expression and cellular function. While recent findings indicate that alternative splicing dysregulation plays a key role in tumorigenic properties of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), the role of other RNA processing mechanisms, such as N6-methyladenosine (m6A) — being the most common RNA methylation — remains largely unexplored in NETs.
