Introduction: Lanreotide autogel (LAN) 120 mg every (q)28 days (standard regimen) improves progression-free survival vs placebo in patients with advanced, somatostatin receptor-positive (SSTR+) gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (NETs).

Introduction: Paraneoplastic hypercalcemia (HC) is a well-described affection in literature. It can relay on several mechanisms among with bone osteolysis, Parathormone (PTH) related peptide (rp) production, primary hyperparathyroidism, and Calcitriol (CT) secretion. CT secretion-mediated HC is more frequently observed among lymphomas and has only been once reported in pNET.

Introduction: Appendiceal neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) are usually diagnosed incidentally on histology following an appendicectomy. They include carcinoid tumours (appendiceal neuroendocrine tumours, NETs) and goblet cell carcinoids (GCC). GCC neoplasms are able to transform to an adenocarcinoma phenotype.

Introduction: TGR is a novel measure of tumor growth activity that may be more precise than RECIST for evaluating response to treatment of NETs.

Introduction: VIPoma is a rare neuroendocrine tumor (NET) with a high potential to develop hepatic metastases and poor prognosis. The primitive tumor is non-symptomatic and usually localized within the pancreas. Liver metastasis drove the prognosis and induced profuse watery diarrhea or renal failure.
