#3910 Integrative molecular analysis of lung neuroendocrine neoplasms with different Ki-67 indices identifies a molecular transition group between low- and high-grade neoplasms

Introduction: In the 2021 World Health Organization (WHO) classification of lung cancers, lung neuroendocrine neoplasms (LNENs) are classified as low-grade, intermediate-grade and high-grade based on mitotic count but not Ki-67 index, as for GEP-NENs.

#3733 New insights on the clinical role of Ki-67 and spindle cell and oncocytic histological variants in lung carcinoid tumors

Introduction: WHO classification defines lung carcinoid tumors (LCTs) as well-differentiated neuroendocrine neoplasms classified in typical (TC) and atypical carcinoids (AC). Morphologic factors and protein expression able to predict recurrence after surgical curative resection are little known. Ki-67 and spindle cell and oncocytic histological variants may impact on differential diagnosis, but their clinical relevance is much debated.

#3409 Ascl1 and OTP identify four prognostic groups among atypical carcinoids

Introduction: Atypical Carcinoids (AC) according World Health Organization guidelines are well differentiated Lung Neuroendocrine tumor with 2-10 mitoses/2 mm2 and/or with necrosis. Besides morphological differentiation no further tools in predicting AC clinical outcome are proposed.

#3347 Broncho-pulmonary combined large-cell neuroendocrine carcinomas (Co-LCNEC): More than a hybrid neoplasm

Introduction: The current WHO classification of lung neoplasms defines combined large cell neuroendocrine carcinomas (CoLCNECs) as the association of an LCNEC with a recognizable component of adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, small cell carcinoma or, rarely, with atypical carcinoid.

#3346 Molecular characterization of a multi-institutional pan-lung cohort using integrative genomic and transcriptomic analysis

Introduction: Lung cancer represents one of the most common neoplasm worldwide and leading cause of cancer mortality. World Health Organization (WHO) show six major histotypes (AC, LCNEC, SCLC, TC, ADC, SQC) dividing them mainly in two lineages (neuroendocrine and non-neuroendocrine) that can also combine each other.
