Introduction: Carcinoid heart disease (CHD) is a potential serious fibrotic complication in patients with neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), affecting the heart valves. Early detection is crucial to avoid severe manifestations. NT-proBNP is suggested as an initial screening tool in detection of CHD; however, the value of NT-proBNP as a screening tool is questionable.

Indices of multiple deprivation (IMD) assess the least to the most deprived areas in the UK, 1 being the most deprived of the 10 deciles.
