#4531 The role of metabolism in neuroendocrine tumour cell models and patients
Introduction: It is recognised that the adipose tissue plays a major role in cancer through a metabolic coupling that supports tumour cell growth. Recent evidence suggests that altered metabolic pathways drive the development and influence the clinical outcomes of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs).

Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (PanNET) are rare with increased annual incidence rate 1/lac. There are no specific biomarkers, diagnostic and prognostic tests available for PanNET. The small extracellular vesicles (sEV) play a key role in tumour growth and metastasis and can be a potential biomarker for metastasis of PanNET.

Introduction: Familial paraganglioma type 4 syndrome (PPGL4) is caused by a germline pathogenic variant (PV) in the SDHB gene. Patients harbouring germline SDHB PV have a higher risk of developing paragangliomas and pheochromocytomas. PPGL4 is considered a higher-risk syndrome for aggressive, and metastatic, abdominal-thoracic paragangliomas compared with other familial paraganglioma syndromes.
